2021 Standing Committee of Correspondents Election

NOTICE

MEMBERS OF THE CONGRESSIONAL

CONGRESSIONAL DAILY PRESS GALLERIES

Nominating petitions for three members of the Standing Committee of Correspondents are in order as of Monday, December 7, 2020 at 9:30 AM.

The Standing Committee issues credentials for daily news reporters covering Congress and sets policy for the operations of the Senate Press Gallery and the House of Representatives Press Gallery.

Due to the pandemic, the process for submitting a nominating petition may be done online. Please contact the director of either the House or Senate Press Gallery to get the nomination process started. Petitions will still need to be posted in each press gallery in writing and signed by at least 15 credentialed members of the daily congressional press galleries in order to notify the membership.

Nominating petitions will be removed from gallery notice boards by 5:00 PM on the eve of the convening of the first session of the 117th Congress, which is designated to be Saturday, January 2, 2021.

The election, if needed, will take place in the Senate Press Gallery on Thursday, January 28, 2021.
